Losing a loved one is the most difficult thing a person ever goes through. Whether you are a parent or family member struggling with the loss of a child, or your community has been affected, dealing with your grief while also communicating with your children, friends and family presents its own set of challenges.
If you have suffered a personal loss, or your community has been affected, these emotional support materials are a good starting point to helping you understand the bereavement process and how you can best support those around you, including your children.
When you feel ready, we strongly encourage you to seek professional counseling for help working through your grief as it is a very individual process.
The information and links under "Grief & Emotional Support" and list of "Resources" below will serve as a starting point on your healing journey. The book Tear Soup, by Pat Schwiebert and Chuck DeKlyen, is a very good starting point for grieving families, friends and communities (See link for GriefWatch under resources)
